Or not…

It’s International Kiss-Off, I Mean Kissing Day

In the endless pile of Days of the Year, today is “International Kissing Day.” No idea why. These past few days and weeks and months and years, kisses have not been readily available to this 50-something (okay, late 50-something) gal.

Especially not those of “International” origin. Those kisses seem to be reserved for models and actresses and such. With the exception of Liam Neesen. I still believe a smooch with him is a possibility in my lifetime. And yours too.

For all you out there whose lips perhaps have been void of human contact for longer than you ever anticipated, I’ve renamed this day. Heretofore, let’s call July 6th “International Kiss-Off Day.” It’s an homage to the ones who were off kissing someone else and expected it to be no big deal. Until we told them to Kiss Off permanently.

Hence this new “Day of the Year”. Created for all of us to treat our lips to a nice sugar scrub in preparation for the lucky someone who is going to plant one on us in the near future. That is how to stay positive on “International Kissing Day” and every other silly Day of the Year we must endure literally on the daily!

Now if you will excuse me, I’m off to consume a Hershey’s kiss. I have one in the freezer because it just so happens that’s how I like my kisses these days!
