A Breakup Letter To Saturday & Sunday

Dear Saturday and Sunday,

For centuries you have been known as the Weekend. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond your control, all the world must breakup with you. There can no longer be two days that everyone has off at the same time. Something as You know we called “the week end.”

Now that businesses have to work on smaller shifts with not as many people, it was only inevitable that some people have to work on Saturday and Sunday. That businesses which normally were closed to honor You, now must remain open so they can get everything done with these split shifts of fewer people.

I understand why you are incredbly pissed at Covid 19. Even though your reasons differ from ours.

Because now, some people may be calling Monday and Tuesday their “weekend.” How about that Monday and Tuesday? Others, Wednesday and Thursday and still Others, Friday and yes you, Saturday. And perhaps someone Sunday and Monday. Perhaps that will be their weekend. Basically, the whole concept of a weekend is going to change and it will have little to do with you, Dear Saturday and Sunday.

But you served us well. And there will still be many holidays that land on one of you. Easter, Mother’s Day, maybe those will go on as usual. But in the traditional sense, you have to now go on your way and…
